I began to be interested in dog training and dog behavior when I volunteered at my local dog shelter in Florida. I was able to participate in a new program there that taught dog training courses and used practical practice with the shelter dogs to help them become more adoptable. I graduated from that program and began leading classes and private sessions at the shelter and in the community
While living in Florida I opened Four on the Floor Dog Training and my focus was on dogs that had been adopted from a shelter or rescue. My approach is simple. I teach basic manners and how best to live in the home together. I use some obedience to accomplish that but every case is different because every dog and situation is different.
In 2020 I retired from my full time job and moved my business to Mountain City, TN. I foster for Misfit Hounds Rescue and continue to focus my training on dogs that have been adopted. I come to your home because that is usually where the issue is, and because I want every dog and person to get the most out of training, I charge by the session and not by the hour,
My mission is to keep more dogs in their homes and lead happy lives with their people. The foundation for that is to teach the dog good manners and to teach their people to be consistent and clear about their expectations.
